LeMoyne Manor

The night of the second NEW DAY BAND gig, was the night I met Dan for the first time. Jan always talked about these guys, but now I could put a face to him and the rest. They had a dinner at some restaurant and that is where I met him. I met him in the parking lot which was not a good idea because I was really freezing.
SO really my first thought of Dan was..."Geez his hands are still warm," before I walked off to find the door.
After that I was a little bit quiet. I know I was quiet because Dan noticed it and mentioned it, then talked about interesting stuff, after which I liked him intensely!
DAN is in one word SUBLIME (hahaha). He was so funny, and nice and sarcastic but not in a weird, obnoxious way. Just so wickedly, devilishly cool. Then he showed us pics of his two adorable kids. That made my day....
It was actually a reunion dinner so there were some other people there from Ithaca. I think Brad and his brother.

SO anyway we went to Le Moyne Manor to watch the gig and Dan showed up a little while later.
The band was great again. This time the stage and dancefloor looked like a cruise ship so there were a lot of Titanic jokes by the lead singer and lead guitarist (Mike and Jon- they are brothers).
In bewteen sets, they would talk to the audience and have at it with the dry comments. I loved it and laughed really hard one time. They noticed and said "Hey who's laughing so hard?". That made me laugh more!

So the band was good, and I noticed how wonderful and talented the lead singer was too, with keeping the audience stirred up. I will talk about that later. But there was this guy who started a conversation with us. He turned out to be a little bit bothersome even when Dan tried to make him go away. I was kinda laughing in my head. Dan tried to explain to him that we just wanted to hang out with each other and he seriously didn't get it for a while. I took a picture because I wanted to tell this story. He wanted to dance and all this. Janice kept trying to save me. Then Janice's dad showed up to save her.
It was great. Janice's dad's sense of humor is like Bob Newhart's so he came up at one point after the guy left and was saying"'Umm so you ladies wanna dance or what." Then he walked off. I love it.
Her dad the whole night, was a blast. We would rate the dancers on the dancefloor like
Dancing With The Stars. The scores would be on napkins. One couple was a definate 2.0 in my book, he gave a 0.5
I was laughing the whole time.

So during a break from the sets, I met Mike the lead singer. He seemed very nice and after the entire show he stayed back and was just strumming his guitar. I like when musicians are in it for the music and not just the glory. He seemed passionate about the music! That is him after the gig just strumming..or jamming out. Whatever they call it. He also wanted to see the pictures I had taken of the band and him YEAH!
The whole performance was really good. People were dancing and singing along I think. I would definitely go back to NY to see these guys again. Hopefully they can book gigs to come down to Florida!
Hey Dan, here were are at LeMoyne! Happy New Year!
Hugs M

Not sure if I can leave a comment w/out registering, but I suppose if you’re reading this I can! I’m back at my post in the attic now that class is back in session…so I had to check out your thoughts on the NY trip.

It was VERY nice to meet you, Marsha! I had heard so many wonderful things about you from Janice, but I was curious to meet you for myself. Because let’s face it, how much can you really trust the judgment of someone who watches “professional” wrestling? Well, at least in your case she was right-on…

It sounds like you enjoyed your trip up here to Siberacuse. And I’m glad you posted about the Lemoyne Manor gig – this one needs to be saved for posterity! Did I tell you that your “buddy” asked me where I worked, and when I told him Lockheed Martin he asked if I could get him a job? Priceless. Who would’ve thought a guy could get rejected by both you and I in the same night! At least he scored some dancefloor time with that little tart in the sparkly dress. I wish I’d been able to come to the Coleman’s gig where the crowd seemed to at least have a pulse. Literally.

Ok, back to my statistics assignment – until next time…

-Dan

p.s. – a pointer for using that camera of yours: lift with your legs, not your back. I don’t want you injuring yourself.

I am laughing too hard right now to write a coherent reply.
