Oh Man

I love this place

So cool

I just can visit here forever.

Relaxing

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Hmmm

This place is actually kinda cool

I did not think I would like it

But I think I am ready for a slower more relaxing place where I can write etc.

So we will see.

Well

I strongly believe that sharecropping sucked to high heaven.

I went 'cotton pickin' and let's just say it was a prickly experience :(

However it was very pretty out there, so I didn't mind as much as I would have had it not been a pretty and relaxing scene.

Have Mercy Again

Oh Wow

Wow
Wow
Wow

I just happened to hear this and I had to know who it was and what was this superb mix. I am going to have to use this for a video I am editing.
It is too perfect.

Heart Warmed

I was so relieved to see Young Victoria.
The relationship between Victoria and Albert left me feeling happy
They were so nice. I just really appreciate when people are nice and good and kind just for the sake of it. Non thinking. Just because it's good to be nice.
http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2009/03/YoungVictoria_450x350.jpg
They wrote letters
Talked and took care of each other
Made me breathe a sigh of relief.
Still now I feel good.

NY

I got this stuff off another blog
Giving paul beger all the credit for this post.

In NYC Do...

Theater
There is always the option of cheap tickets from the TKTS booth in Times Square, which I understand is often mobbed. A better option is to head for the TKTS booth at South Street Seaport or in Downtown Brooklyn. Not only are these locations a lot quieter, TKTS publishes a daily email telling you which tickets are being offered at both locations for that night and the following matinee performance so you can plan ahead what you would like to see.

Movies
I could not think of anything better than heading down to an art house cinema like Film Forum in the West Village. Not only does it always offer an interesting range of movies, but it’s also a great neighborhood for post-movie analysis over dinner/drinks.

Jazz
Barbes, in Park Slope, particularly if Stephane Wrembel is playing gypsy jazz on a Sunday night. Here’s a video) taster. Barbes’ calendar is here (I understand the Slavic Soul Party is pretty popular too). If you’re looking for a Manhattan jazz experience, Sofie and I had a great night out at Dizzy’s at Jazz at Lincoln Center, but it can be pricey.

Brooklyn Academy of Music
If you’re visiting Brooklyn it is well worth checking out the Brooklyn Academy of Music. BAM offers theater, dance, movies, music, readings etc. It’s also conveniently located at the intersection of four very interesting Brooklyn neighborhoods which are well worth exploring for their variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and architecture: Fort Greene, Prospect Heights, Park Slope and Cobble Hill.

Gallery Hopping in Chelsea
As much fun for people-watching as it is for exploring art, there is nothing quite like West Chelsea at the weekend. The neighborhood’s commercial galleries are spread over a number of blocks in this industrial area close to the Hudson river. Much of the work can often leave you feeling cold, but I rarely spend an afternoon down there without discovering one or two new artists. Another good time to go can be Thursday evenings when most of the galleries have opening receptions, which means free booze and even nibbles, if you are lucky. Check the Chelsea Art Galleries website for events.

Support

To show my support of Haiti, when I entered the Eustace Tilley contest, I did a spotlight on Haiti.
I kept it very simple because I just wanted to focus to stay on Haiti.

That's all really.

Kinda want to see...

This movie called Takers

It's purely action but some of my fav people are in it

Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba and T.I.

Interviews hideous

So you know how I wanted to read Brief Interviews with Hideous Men?
Well I started reading it and got exactly half way though.
I only got that far because I was hoping with each page turn that it would get better.
Ummm
I just hope the movie is better than the book
It just dragged and dragged on in this really unnecessarily pretentiously descriptively non descriptive way.
I just was rolling my eyes.
I will try again to read it..maybe I am not used to the style of writing. I will give reading it another chance.
The interviews and the content itself (what they said) was fine but come on...
