Lecture

Watched a lecture on Ryskamp and his collection of drawings

The lecture was about an hour long at the Frick in NYC

Very interesting

How he collected

How Many

How he displayed

Where he displayed in his house

Invitations to students to talk about art and collections

"Charles Ryskamp: A Life in Arts and Letters"

It was interesting because the lecture kind of gave you insight into this other kind of world where people who are really passionate about art and books, just endeavour to collect what they view as meaningful to them.

With connections to The Frick Collection, the Morgan Library, Yale and other distinguished libraries, with art collections, the lecture gave a history of Ryskamp's academic study life as well as his time teaching.

It detailed how he decided which drawings to buy, who he hung out with, and where he traveled to, and how often.

He traveled extensively.
However it sounds as if one HAD to be committed to just that life, and maybe little else...

I wasn't sure if he did a variety of other activities until Ryskamp met Paul Mellon.

The Mellons invited him to share a lot of activities, horses, garden history, boats, countryside etc...

Then it all sounded amazing to me

I want to do some of the stuff he did.
Of course you have to hang out with people who have that interest.
I don't know that many people who ALREADY know much about it..
I'll try and do all of this though
:)

Crying

I couldn't believe it
Can't stop crying...

And cried for a long time
Still
My favorite song of hers:

I Believe In You and Me

I Believe In You and Me
I Believe That we will be
In love eternally
Well as far as I can see
You Will Always be the one
For me (Oh yes, you will)

And I believe in dreams again
I believe that love will never end
And like the river finds the sea
I was lost, now I'm free
Cuz I believe In you and me

I will never leave your side
I will never hurt your pride
When all the chips are down, baby
Then I will always be around
Just to be right where you are
My love, you know I love you, boy

I will never leave you out
I will always let you in, boy (mmm, oh baby)
To places no-one's ever been,
Deep inside, can't you see?
That I believe in you and me

Maybe I'm a fool
To feel the way I do
I will play the fool forever
Just to be with you forever

I believe in miracles
And love is the miracle
And yes, baby you're my dream come true
I was lost, now I'm free,
Oh, baby cuz i believe, i do believe, in you and me
See, I was lost, now I'm free
Cuz I believe in you and me.

Transport

One of my fav things to do is watch ESMA short films

Because it's animation for the most part, they can do anything

So it transports you out of the here and now and into ANYWHERE else

All the time

The most fantastic stories all the time
One of my favorites (and I have several) is Jeu D'enfants

It's all to do with imagination

If one doesn't have that, then what is it all for
Rien...

Installation

I went to this gallery opening.
There I saw an installation on the wall
It was tiny with a hole carved into it.
You put your eye up to that hole and looked in.

There inside was a tiny projector showing movies
I loved it

I wanted to crawl inside and sit there and watch the movie.
AT that opening I had a good time looking at the art.
It always takes you away from whatever is going on around you
I looked at the art a lot that night lol!

Get It :)

Oh...

And Oh!

New

Thanks to Josh Groban I got introduced to Goyte (I gotta say Josh is one of the most surprisingly funny guys on the planet)

I love following him on twitter.

He is not only funny but he does so many interesting things and post pics of them.
Like Jay Z at Carnegie

It's like talking to him in person.

Personally I was never interested in him until I started to read his tweets on twitter.

Never met somebody whose personality surprised me so much

That's why we shouldn't judge.
ANYWAY Goyte

I love the song Heart's A Mess. The lyrics are pretty cool (though a bi depressing so only listen to it on a day when you are very happy ) :p

Want to see

New Spiderman

I think it will be much better than the previous ones

Soul Train

I really liked when thy used to show reruns of Soul Train on Tv

The 90s version was pretty good but I like the really old ones

Where you see all the crazy dancing and the cool fashion

The episode when Marvin Gaye was on singing Let's Get It On, was one of my favorites

He just charmed all the ladies

That voice

That song
The Dancing- I don't get when people just don't dance.
It's liberating.
Just DO IT!

Ooooohhh Weeee
