Guess Who I Met Today
Brittany Brower from America's Next Top model Cycle 4
She was in Best Buy with people I think were her parents!
This tall girl just stood by me at the cash out line and I looked at her.
Then I went up and asked her if she was on ANTM!
She said yes and was so nice :) Then my sis said that she had her digi camera in her bag!
I didn't have mine (remember Stephen Colbert sadly).
Sis suggested a pic and Brittany agreed. I will have to wait on posting the pic together because it's on Sis's camera BUT YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I met another "celeb"
Brittany was really nice and when she left the store she waved at me.
Nobody else recognized her! I can't believe it!

The Holiday
An absolutely WONDERFUL movie.
Everyone in the cinema clapped when it was over.
I adore this movie and was so glad that I went to see it.
It was funny, sad, quirky, cute, dreamy, beautiful and fun all at the same time.
I highly highly recommend this for the holiday season.
See it with your sweetie if you have one, or see it with friends or alone....It is sooo worth it!

How Trini women do "FUN" in NYC
The night before a morning of iceskating, Erline went to a class party.
She looks as if she was having fun for all of us.
I wondered who this guy was and she told me. I wondered why there wasn't another pic of L'homme du jour :)
I love the head wrap btw. Free drink at the end of the night too! I can dig it!

The furries
Ok ok. I know that not a lot of people like them but I love the furry winter boots. I think they make everyone look cute.
I like them too because they are warm and so comfortable to walk in.
I prefer heels in general but these are wonderful.
Even Mariah Carey thinks so, but I wonder how hers stay up without the ties like mine have.

The Thing About DC
Is that you get that big city excitement. You really dont know what will happen next.
You don't know if you will get lost, or who you may see.
So I took pics of limos (in case somebody huge was inside and the diplomat van because it was a DIPLOMAT VAN hahahaha. They have immunity from everything!
That is pic worthy to me!
I really liked the neighborhood that I stayed in too...It was this little townhouse community that was so quiet and sweet. I got a pic of me sitting on Izzy's stairs.
I didn't get a pic of the house but Oh Well...next time :)
In a nutshell you get the modernity of the city then you go to the country side and see one of these old gasolene pumps from the 80's and you think, WOW! So old! hahahahah

Deliverance Country
So you know how we kinda rode around for a while trying to find that vineyard that we wanted to get to? I have to tell you that there were beautiful houses and grounds all the way there. I loved seeing those!
Well we stopped to take in some other scenery in the woods and on the hills...(insert banjo and scary woodsy horror music here). I saw that barn, the old truck and kept my guard up lol!
This is what we got from that..we even stopped to eat (see food blog soon) on the hill.
I really loved this trip. I really should stop watching horror moives though...All my woodsy pics look as if I am ready to make a run for it! :)

Vineyards in Virgina
I had the best time ever.
We went all over creation it seemed but this post is about the Linden Vineyard. The great thing about Linden is how scenic and rustic, yet classy it is.
It was written up in Fineliving .com and NYMag.com and it lived up to what I thought it would be like. We tasted the four sellars specials of that day and got the bottle of Reisling (see food blog soon), which was delicious.
The scenery was breathtaking too.
The interesting thing was getting there. The back roads were confusing so we actually passed two other vineyards and stopped and ate on a hill surounded by woods. I loved that too.
We talked and talked and talked the whole time and sang too...
You know singing the signs as you go along.
When we realized we may be lost, we started heading for the hills. At some point we started to make banjo sounds.
It felt like we were in DELIVERANCE and I had been watching horror movies in woods. It took bear a while to convince me that the woods were safe. Too cold for horror he said, hahahah.

Tradition
The going away dinner.
Exchange of gifts, because heavens knows when is the next time you will meet hahahha
So we went to the good old OG.
OG has removed some of my favorite things from the menu, like the Chicken Castellena. I had the Chicken Marsala myself. Sooo good. Unfortunately I was so hungry that I forgot to take a pic of it.
The food blog has the salad and the dessert though :)

The Day The Clowns Fell
So I went to the winter festival.
The Bell choir is held every year before the festival starts so I went there first.
I met up with Sandy who left her family at home and went out to enjoy herself hahaha. We got to sing along which I really enjoyed of course! :)
Afterward of course I did the usual exploring and looking at food(see food blog) and the christmas tree displays.
The Bonsai booth was really interesting because Jim the Bonsai guy was funny. I asked him how he got the trees to twist round each other. He said he couldn't tell me on pain of...
I said "On pain of what?"
He said "You know nobody ever asked me that!" Then he said there was a plant with my name on it if I wanted to come back and get it. I told him I would think about it. He is from Ocala.
I met these cool guys from a band called Probability (I think that was the name). They are going to be in town next weekend playing at Bullwinkles. Aaron (In the Jacket) introduced me around, and asked me if I was going to be there and I said yes, so they said they would see me there at Bullwinkles. When I remembered I wasn't going to be in town I didn't want to say anything. :(
Of course I listened to Jazz...It was soooo good.
I didn't take many pictures of the parade because I didn't feel like it, but I got a position right up front on the parade route.
I could call out to whoever I wanted so I hailed out Lenisha Williams, Eric Eggers, the WAY-FM crew who I volunteer with etc etc...
Then I screamed hello to Santa and he heard! lol
I almost forgot to say that Wendy the stilt walking clown, fell. I took a pic of her on the ground.
I think she hurt her knees because she stayed off them for a while but later in the parade she was back up there doing her thing.

The night
Was full of activities.
The sigmas were having a stepshow and dancing. That was actually fun to watch and the music was great. Afterward they mingled and had initiation.
I think the black and white fraternities should get together and put on a show!
While we waited for the Latin dance to begin we went and watched the World AIDS Day show (see food blog for the cake), and the painting of christmas ornaments.
The lady in charge of the painting looked annoyed that she had to be there :)
The latin dance stuff was great but my camera battery died at the AIDS day show :(.
There were dancers and poets, belly dancers and singers, then testimonies.
