Must see

The movie Skin
I had heard of this story a longtime ago and I think it is to be released this year. Of course i will see it since Sophie Okonedo stars.
it is the story of Sandra Laing born in 1955- she is a black girl born to white Afrikaner parents in South Africa back in the days of white rule and apartheid

It seems that her white father was her true father: blood tests showed that his blood matched hers. Sandra also looked too much like her brother Adriaan, who was white.

Although Sandra’s great grandparents were all white, someone in her family tree must have been passing for white, probably several people on both sides. Their genes came together in her. Most white Afrikaners are only about 89% white by blood.

For four years parents and teachers of the school pushed to have her kicked out. Then on March 10th 1966 the police came and took her out of the school: the government said she was no longer white in the eyes of the law but coloured (mixed-race).

For two years her father fought to have her changed back to white, taking it all the way to the Supreme Court. He won. But it did little good: few white schools would take her. Nine said no. Only a Roman Catholic school far away said yes. By then she had fallen too far behind in her studies and never caught up.

The story goes on from there...Terrible stuff...can't wait to see it.

Celeb quiz :)

I took the "Which Celebrity Would Play You In a Movie of your life" and I got Debra Messing...Which I am happy about except that she doesn't look like me.

The rest of the results read like this:
You are the class clown. Always trying to make others laugh. You have a genuiness about you that is obvious to all. You are the girl men leave their "arm trophies" for and are glad of it.

Half and quarter

I love Quarterlife.
Well I loved it before Jed and Deborah left...I think they should have continued that story line but the guy playing Jed got a great job on an ABC series called Greek....
I watched all the online episodes before the film was aired on NBC
After the first episode it was cancelled but I think this was a great idea

Nostalgy (nostalgia) and work

These days are filled with work and Nostalgy...I wonder if one affects the other
At times like this...Lauryn Hill

Sweetest Thing

The sweetest thing I've ever known
Was like the kiss on the collarbone
Soft caress of happiness
The way you walk, your style of dress
I wish I didn't get so weak
Ooo, baby, just to hear you speak
Makes me argue just to see
How much you're in love with me
See, like a queen, a queen upon her throne

It was the sweet, sweet, sweetest thing I know,
It was the sweet, sweet, sweetest thing I know

I get mad when you walk away (don't walk away)
So I tell you leave, when I mean stay
Warm as the sun dipped in black

Fingertips on the small of my back
More valuable than all I own
Like your precious, precious, precious, precious dark skin tone

It was the...Ah
I tried to explain
Ah...but baby, it's in vain

Speaking on my mother's phone
The touching makes me think I'm grown, (you ain't grown)
Sweet prince of the ghetto
Your kisses taste like armoretto
Intoxicating, oh, so intoxicating
How sad, how sad that all things come to an end
But then again, I'm, I'm not alone

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was you.—Unknown

From Musiq Soulchild :)
He's so cool....
Half crazy- tangie

Never thought that we would ever be more than friends
Now I'm all confused cause for you I have deeper feelings
We both thought it was cool to cross the line
And I was convinced it would be alright

Now things are strange, nothings the same
And really I just want my friend back

And my mind's gone half crazy cause I can't leave you alone (oh can't get you out of my system)
And I'm wondering if it's worth me holding on (holding on)
Said my mind's gone half crazy cause I can't leave you alone (can't get you out of my system)
And I'm wondering if it's worth me holding on (yeah)

I'd hate walk away from you as if this never existed

Cause when we kissed the moment after I looked at you different
Lately I gotta watch what I say
Cause you take things personally nowadays
You used to laugh now you get mad
Damn I just want my friend back

And my mind's gone half crazy cause I can't leave you alone (oh can't get you out of my system)
And I'm wondering if it's worth me holding on (holding on)
Said my mind's gone half crazy cause I can't leave you alone (can't get you out of my system)
And I'm wondering if it's worth me holding on

oh oh oh oh oh yeah
What happened to the one I used to know (oh yeah yeah)
The one I used to laugh and joke with
The one I used to tell all my secrets
We used to chill and be down for whatever whenever together yeah

And my mind's gone half crazy (oh) cause I can't leave you alone (I'm going half crazy baby)
And I'm wondering if it's worth me (oh) holding on (over you)
Said my mind's gone half crazy (yeah) cause I can't leave you alone (and I just don't know)
And I'm wondering if it's worth me holding on (said I just don't know what to do now)
we used to chill (yeah) we used to hang
we used to do we used to do some many things together (yeah)
yeah yeah yeah yeah
oh oh
oh oh oh

Crave clips 111 part 1
I am losing my inspiration
Part 2
I can't write these things into existence these days.

Stories seems silly compared to real life....
just write real life?

I miss Tangeline
Everything was free and clear and unencumbered by mess. Except the mess they created by denying what was there.
So save room for it! :)

Wow the new star trek was amazing

I loved it

Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana were great but Simon Pegg and Karl (Scotty) Urban (Bones) were the breakout stars for me :)

I loved that M. Sulu could fight, even though in the old Star trek I have seen him with swords (and his shirt off -not cool) :)

Next day Air was kinda cool!
Benny Boom did a great job directing
The breakout star for me in this film was this guy
Omari Hardwick.
He looked good, acted great, was slick.
He will be in a TV series starting in June on TNT I believe... :)

Took this quiz
What Vampire Clan are you
I got this result

The Toreador are called many things - "degenerates," "artistes," "poseurs" and "hedonists" being but a few.

But any such lumpen categorization does the clan a disservice.

Depending on the individual and her mood, Toreador are alternately elegant and flamboyant, brilliant and ludicrous, visionary and dissipated.

Perhaps the only truism that can be applied to the clan is its members' aesthetic zeal. Whatever a Toreador does, she does with passion.

Whatever a Toreador is, she is with passion.
