un film

I watched Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles.
It was three hours long and the story could have been told quite well in a very short film of 30 minutes or less believe me.
More music and good editing and we still would have gotten the point
But three hours is another way of doing it too
Let me tell you WHY it was three hours.

You know in acting class when they tell you to pretend you are eating an apple, and they sit there for 20 minutes while you go through the motions of looking for the apples, choosing the apple, washing, drying, looking at, biting, chewing, swallowing, THE WHOLE apple?
THAT'S what this film does.

It follows a woman for three days. Doing what we would consider absolutely nothing (mundane things) and shows the length and breath of cooking, showering, cleaning and eating, till the last day when things change.
Its kinda funny if you think about it
It was a good movie yes. I sat in silence and watched this near silent movie and it was calming and good
The three days were necessary to show progression of character based on a morally taxing event that had become a large part of her existence.

I learned something and I got the message
 BUT

I think I am all about being a little more concise after that experience
