Ohhhhhh mannnnnnn
Whirlwind blocks of time are fun but when its time to 'come down', the tired hits you like a ton of bricks.
One of things we all adored was Coco Before Chanel
Oh my gosh so sweet so lovely!!!!!!!
I wanted to be in Paris just then or England, or wherever
I liked her determination....
In a lot of ways.
This movie was a little sad but happy and fun and adorable.
Just see the movie.

Over and over
That song that plays over and over in my head for dancing these days is the remix of Lady Gaga's Poker Face (Make Her Say).
The Remix stars Kid Cudi, COMMON (oh yeh), and Kanye West
Kid Cudi looked great at the AMA's with Drake introducing Mary J. Blige.
I love this song (for dancing)
I also really like the video so I put in some stills of the shots I really like.
I especially like the one with the girl (who looks a little like me) sitting at the train station with LA, NY and London time above.

Relaxing
Ok ok
Yes I've been posting about a lot of movies but that's my escape from all the other things that I have to do.
Plus, it's a learning experience.
I feel like I am watching them through new eyes and learning techniques that I like and that I don't like at all.
Si still do things. I guess I should write more about that stuff too!

Will always remember
It's fitting that I use that title for this movie
Code 46 is sci fi and 'love story' perfectly rolled into one.
Not over done in any of the two genres.
Samantha Morton who readily admits that she is not a good actor but instead is a good reactor to her co-stars and the environment, is again brilliant in this movie and Tim Robbins is as Tim Robbins should be in this film. Lovely.
I could watch it over and over.
I love a good sci fi and this reminded me of Gattaca, but it wasn't a knock off.
I love the movie also because they had a small production budget so they took small crews (15) with them overseas and were very resourceful in shooting on streets and in the desert etc...
I like when a budget is small but talented directors and cres can put out high quality film.

umm
I won't bother to write anything much about Love In The Time of Cholera.
Except that it sucked.
I don't even want to read the book now.
Except that it sucked.
I don't even want to read the book now.
I don't know why
But I loved BUG.
Well I do know why.
The acting from EVERYBODY was great.
Brilliant.
Michael Shannon, Ashley Judd and Harry Connick Jr.
I fell for this movie.
It kinda made me feel weird though.
I always liked William Friedkins (Director), because i watched interviews with him and he is one of the first directors I saw to own when a movie he makes is crap. He describes how his early films basically had nothing to do with who he was as a director, and they were not good work.
He freely admits to being a 'pest', calling up cinemas in the 70s and making sure they had the right sound levels and light for showing his film.
AND in his director's commentary of films, he is so clear about his intent in each scene each word etc.
Most of his work is character study which I adore because I try to do that in my writing and when I take photos of people in social situations.
I love this.

I liked it!
I watched RocknRolla and I really liked it.
Good cast, twist and turns, acting good, funny, exciting.
Cool!
I know a lot of people didn't really like it but I really enjoyed watching this movie

YAY!!!
The Washington Post reported that Bill & Melinda Gates donated $10 Million to the National Museum of African American History and Culture this month.
The museum is not slated to open until 2015.
They are so cool!

Trini Secrets
So my friend sent me a video of a woman beating up a guy (her bf) on the Promende in Trinidad.
That was really something.
It was an 8 minute video and it was really well shot. At the end of it I was thinking: "Wow this could have been in a movie."
But I digress.
It was really disturbing
The thing that got to me was that it was a series of CHAIN UPS.
to those who don't know a 'chain' up is a manipulation to incite anger and bad behavior as a result.
Trinis do it really well and I had forgotten how well.
Its a lilting, scampish tone of voice with the right combination of words meant to cause a reaction.
The reaction is received but sooner or later (most time sooner) it escalates beyond control and beyond anything that the person doing the chaining up could have imagined.
The 'chainers' usually beat a hasty retreat but the reaction continues.
I had forgotten that till I saw the video.
The guy was made because the girl was 'back wining' with some dude in the club he took her to.
He orders her out of his car after some 'chaining'.
She tells him that he better stop or she will embarrass him
He doesn't stop and she gets out of the car and whales on him all up and down the place.
OMG
Thankfully he didn't hit back but it seems to me that they'd both gone down that road before,
I couldn't stop watching.
I mean I've seen this kind of thing before but not 8 minutes of continuous feed and chaining...
Nasty business!

FYI
Pieces of April was a sweet and edgy and touching movie
I didn't know Katie Holmes had it like that!
I like her so much more now and I wish she would be in more movies
Patricia Clarkson of course was amazing as usual.
I like her in everything that she does.
Sean Hayes was the breakout star for me though.
His short role had me thinking about him the whole time.

Last
Well I saw The Last Life in the Universe.
A Thai film with Thai and Japanese actors.
I really really enjoyed it.
The acting was great but most importantly in the telling of the story, the transitions and growth of the characters was so clear but not in your face and obvious.
The movie just flows along without so much obvious story telling and I really really liked that.
It was relaxing and just great.
I love foreign film.
I have to tell you.
There were two sisters in the movie who are sisters in real life.
Sinnitta Booyasak and Chermarn Boonyasak
Chermarn is younger, a model and has won more awards and been in more films than Sinitta.
However to me, Sinitta is the breakout star of the movie. I like her plain, down to earth acting. Just like a normal and real person. So you like her immensely in the film.
Chermarn is great in her small role and you can see why she has won so many awards.

Michelle does it again :)
Just when you think that it can't get any better it does
The President's wife had this to say in the CBS interview about dating
"Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, Who are you as a person?
That’s the advice I would give to women: Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart.
Look at the soul.
Look at how the guy treats his mother and what he says about women.
How he acts with children he doesn’t know.
And, more important, how does he treat you?
When you’re dating a man, you should always feel good.
You should never feel less than.
You should never doubt yourself.
You shouldn’t be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole.
And if you’re in that relationship and you’re dating, then my advice is, don’t get married.
Get out of it and find that person that brings you complete and utter joy with who you are at the moment.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best
One of the best yet underrated movies I have seen is Forces of Nature starring Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock.
The story was excellent
The moral was on point
The script was so good.
It is a movie about what should happen when you think about the reality of your situation
I love it
My favorite quote in the movie is this
Ben Holmes: Sarah, everybody loves you, you just... you just think they're all wrong.
